Uttarakhand Unlock 2 Guidelines - Summary
The Uttarakhand government has released new guidelines under Unlock 2.0, simplifying the entry process for people coming from other states. Notably, very important persons (VIPs) from both central and state governments, along with members of the judiciary and legislative bodies, are exempt from quarantine requirements.
Important Guidelines for Visitors
- Documents for registration will be checked at border check posts. Passengers arriving from cities with low Covid-19 cases must undergo home quarantine for 14 days.
- For those coming from cities with high Covid-19 cases, a seven-day institutional quarantine is mandatory, followed by home quarantine. They can choose between a government quarantine center (non-payment) or a paid facility.
- Individuals such as pregnant women, those who are seriously ill, senior citizens over 65 years, and travelers with kids under 10 years will be exempt from institutional quarantine. They are permitted to stay under home quarantine for 14 days.
- To provide further relief, the government allows asymptomatic individuals traveling for short visits (up to seven days) for essential reasons—like a family death or serious illness—to skip quarantine. However, they must stay at home during this time.
- As per the guidelines, the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and paramilitary forces will arrange their own institutional quarantine for their officers, personnel, and families arriving from high Covid-19 affected cities.
- Tourists arriving from abroad will be required to complete a seven-day institutional quarantine followed by seven days of home quarantine. In special circumstances, home quarantine for 14 days might be allowed for asymptomatic individuals.
- All hotels, bed and breakfast options, homestays, and hospitality services can operate in Uttarakhand, excluding containment zones. Hotel management must ensure that bookings for out-of-state guests are made for at least seven days.
- Hotels outside containment zones may serve liquor only as room service and not in public bars.
