SSC CGL Vacancy List 2025 - Summary
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the tentative vacancy list for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025. A total of 14,582 posts will be filled across various central ministries, departments, and organizations under this recruitment drive. These vacancies fall under Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ categories. Out of the total vacancies, 6,183 are for the unreserved category, 2,167 for SC, 1,088 for ST, 3,721 for OBC, and 1,423 for EWS candidates.
The online application process for CGL 2025 was conducted on July 4. Through this examination, recruitment is carried out in 48 departments and ministries of the Central Government. Notable vacancies include 1,306 posts for Inspector (Central Excise), 771 for Tax Assistant, 353 for CBIC Inspector, 180 for CAG Accountant/Junior Accountant, 389 for CBDT Income Tax Inspector, 94 for Assistant/ASO in EPFO, 197 for Assistant/ASO in Intelligence Bureau, and 682 posts for Assistant Section Officer in DoPT CSS.
SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern:
The Tier-1 exam will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) of 1 hour duration, consisting of 100 questions worth 200 marks in total. The paper will have four sections:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning – 25 questions (50 marks)
- General Awareness – 25 questions (50 marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude – 25 questions (50 marks)
- English Comprehension – 25 questions (50 marks)
Note – There will be a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each incorrect answer.
Selection Process:
Stage 1 – Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature)
Stage 2 – Tier-II:
Paper-I: Compulsory for all posts
Paper-II: Only for candidates applying for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
