About Samarth Ramdas
Born on Ramnavami in the month of Chaitra in the year 1530 (Shalivahana era) or 1608 CE, Samarth Ramdas hailed from Jamb village in Ambad Taluka of Aurangabad District. His birthplace is located on the beautiful banks of the river Godavari. He was born to Suryaji Pant and Ranubai, and he had an elder brother named Gangadhar. His family held a long-standing tradition of worshiping Surya (the Sun) and Lord Ram.
