“Mawlid” (also spelled “Moulood” or “Maulid”) is an Arabic term that refers to the celebration of the birth of the Islamic prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The term is often used to refer to both the event itself and the literary and poetic works created to commemorate it.

The Manqoos Moulid, also known as “Mawlid al-Barzanji,” traces its origins back to the 18th century in the mystical lands of Hadhramaut, Yemen. It is a celebration of the birth of the beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
