Karnataka Class 8 English Work Book Part 2
This section of the Detailed Text is divided into eight units, each of which has a prose piece (or a drama) and poetry. The Prose piece and the Poem in a Unit are thematically linked in some way. The learners are motivated to imbibe those ideals in their roles in real life by the values shown in these Pieces, which are chosen not only for their linguistic potential but also for the values they reflect.
Poems from many genres are included. They are intended to be read primarily for pleasure, with emphasis on qualities such as rhythm, imagery, and figures of speech.

About Supplementary Reader
This unit includes four pieces of writing: a scene from the Mahabharata epic, a folk tale, a biographical sketch of a notable person, and the storey of a courageous space traveller. The goal of this Part, once again, is to pave the way for a habit of reading that is both fun and informative.
