Extension Details
The lockdown is now set to continue with the same rules that were previously issued, ending at 5 am on May 31, 2021. Initially, the lockdown was to conclude at 5 am on Monday, May 17. However, due to the persistent number of cases, a week’s extension was necessary. Many, including traders and everyday citizens, have voiced their support for this extension.
Current Situation
The Chief Minister emphasized that Delhi is battling the fourth wave of COVID-19. Stringent measures are essential to prevent the healthcare system from collapsing under pressure. Essential services like food supply and medical services will remain operational. For those planning weddings, gatherings can only include up to 50 people, and special passes will be issued for such events.
