Vocational courses are courses that are usually aimed at equipping students with practical skills for a specific profession or field. Hence, are often aimed at a specialized career and designed in a manner such as to help you upgrade your skills for that particular career.
Vocational subjects are general qualifications that develop practical skills and knowledge related to a broad job area such as Business, Engineering, IT, and Health and Social Care. They are offered in both schools and colleges. They include a significant amount of classroom-based activities.
The 40 vocational courses being offered by the CBSE are quite varied and diverse and can be broadly classified into the following categories:
