Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has released the first candidate list for the Gujarat Assembly election.  The Gujarat election will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The votes will be counted on December 8 along with Himachal Pradesh which votes on November 12. Of the total 182 assembly seats in Gujarat, 89 constituencies will vote in the first phase, and the rest 93 in the second phase.

BJP released the 160 candidates list on 10th November 2022. The prominent names announced include Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, former Morbi MLA Kantilal Amrutya, Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja, and Hardik Patel. The BJP fielded Kantilal Amrutya, a former MLA from Morbi, who reportedly jumped into the river to save people after the collapse of a bridge, which killed more than 130 people.
