The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced a flagship programme “AMMA VODI” as a part of “NAVARATNALU” for providing financial assistance to each mother or recognized guardian in the absence of the mother, who is below poverty line household, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, and region to enable her to educate her child/children from Class I to XII (Intermediate Education) in all recognized Government, Private Aided and Private Unaided schools/ Jr. Colleges including Residential Schools/Colleges in the State from the Academic year 2020-2021.

The second phase under the Amma Vodi scheme has launched on 11 January 2021 by the chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy from Nellore. This information has been given by education Minister A. Suresh. Under the second phase of Amma Vodi Scheme around 44 lakh, women will get 15000 for sending their children to school.

Amma Vodi Scheme Guidelines – Eligibility Certeria

• The family should have a white ration card
• The mother and the guardian of the child should belong to a below poverty line family
• The family should own either a valid Aadhaar Card or a Voter ID Card
• Any child who is studying between standard 1 to standard 12 and whose beneficiary is eligible to avail the scheme must be going to a government or in private aided and private unaided school’s/ Jr. colleges including residential schools /colleges in the state from the Academic year 2020-2021
• It is the responsibility of the mother or the guardian to ensure that their ward maintains a minimum of 75% attendance in school
  Both the parent and the children must be citizens of Andhra Pradesh
• The child will not be eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme if he/she decides to discontinue their studies or quit in the middle of the academic session
• Central and state government employees are not eligible to avail this scheme

Benefits of Amma Vodi scheme

• The scheme will provide an opportunity for children belonging to below poverty line group to go to school and study and receive proper education
• The scheme will provide financial assistance to children belonging to below poverty line group and provide them access to quality education
• The implementation of the scheme will help in killing child labor and allow every child in the state their right to education
• The beneficiary will receive a financial assistance of Rs.15,000 on a yearly basis
• The amount will be disbursed directly to the bank account of mother or the guardian
• The scheme will help in improving the literacy rate of the state of Andhra Pradesh
• The scheme will help in promoting the importance of education and bring down the drop-out rate in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It will encourage those to come back and complete their education who had to leave midway due to financial problems

Documents required to Amma Vodi scheme

1. Aadhaar Card
2. White Ration Card
3. Proof of address such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, electricity bill, etc.
4. Name of the school where the child is studying
5. Bank account details of the mother or the guardian
6. Passport size photo of the mother
7. School’s identity card to confirm that the student studies in the said school

1. You can either visit the nearest government office to obtain the application form. You can also download the application form. You can download the application form by searching for ‘download Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme‘ application form on search engines. You will get appropriate links through which you can download the application form. Once you have done that, get a printout of it
2. Duly fill in the application form and make sure that all the details entered are correct
3. Affix the form with the passport size photo the child
4. Attach all the relevant documents
5. Submit the application form the nearest government office
