LPC Form - Summary
When an employee is transferred from one job location to another, obtaining the Last Pay Certificate (LPC) is crucial. This important document details the salary, allowances, and deductions from the employee’s pay. It is necessary for employees to get the last pay certificate from the DDO in G.A. 62 format to ensure they can continue to receive their salary from the new office or treasury.
What is the Last Pay Certificate (LPC)?
The Last Pay Certificate (LPC) is generally issued after the charge report is received once the employee has been released. This process usually takes about four days but can sometimes take up to a maximum of 10 days. If a Government servant does not receive the last pay certificate within this period, he should raise the issue with the Head of the Department (Law 147).
How it Works in Government Offices
In Government Offices, if the LPC has not arrived, an office-bearer can allow a government servant to withdraw salary and allowances for the initial three months based on a statement provided. This statement must include the last drawn salary, allowances, all recoveries, and the net due amount. In special cases, this facility may be extended for another three months if valid reasons are provided (Law 148).
