Unified package insurance Scheme (UPIS) is a financial protection scheme specifically given to the people who are associated with the agricultural sector. This scheme ensures people with food security, financial crises, and crop diversification. It also helps them to enhance the growth and competitiveness of agricultural sectors.

- Crop Insurance: State can choose PMFBY or WBCIS
- Accidental Coverage under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna
- Life insurance coverage under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojna

Suitability of Unified Package Insurance Scheme
This policy was designed to take care of the farmers’ insurance needs with agricultural needs. In case of accidents and disability, the policy protects the farmer and his family. It also had a provision of giving educational fees to the children in case of parents’ death. The policy term is one year.
