Toyota Hilux is a pickup truck launched by Toyota India at a starting price of Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Hilux is a diesel-only offering and is offered in two broad trims: Standard and High.
The major change in the Hilux was the availability of a brand new 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine in its line-up with 204 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. No doubt, more powerful than the somewhat lackluster 2.4 liter Diesel which offers 150 horses.
Toyota Hilux Engine
The Toyota Hilux is powered by the same 2.8-liter diesel engine which is available in Fortuner and produces 204PS of power and 500Nm of peak torque (For the automatic variant). Torque output stands at a max 420Nm for the manual version of Hilux.
The engine of the Toyota Hilux is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The pickup gets a 4WD with a low-range gearbox as standard.
