Herbology for Home Study
Herbology is the study of plants and plant lore. Botanists typically collect and identify different species of plant in order to make potions and remedies, and their compilations are known as ‘herbals’. Herbalists need an in-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as detailed knowledge of herbs and their preparation. They also need: Excellent interpersonal skills. The Roots of Herbalism home study course explores the philosophies of ecological Herbalism, the practices of herbal nutrition, and the foundations of holistic health. Students learn to make their own herbal preparations, including tisanes and tinctures, to apply the knowledge they learn about the plants through a DVD, course workbook, textbook, and herb materials.
