Gajendra Moksha Telugu (గజేంద్ర మోక్షం)
In the stories of the ancient scriptures, the Gajendra Moksha tells us about how Lord Vishnu came down to Earth to save Gajendra, the king of elephants. This story is narrated by Sage Shuka to King Parikshit. Upon hearing this, King Parikshit requests the sage to share the tale of Gajendra in detail, resulting in the profound narrative of Gajendra Moksha.
Understanding Gajendra Moksha
In the middle of the Ksheerasaagara, there stands a mountain called Trikoota. This mountain has three peaks, one made of gold, another of iron, and the last one adorned with silver. Above these hills, various celestial beings such as Kinnaras are seen gracefully flying.
In the forests atop this mountain, fierce animals like wild boars and elephants roam. The elephants, in large groups, would create a shadow over the area as they marched in search of food and water. One day, while looking for a water body, a herd of elephants split up, and the female elephants followed their king, Gajendra, towards another lake.

ఆసీద్గిరివరో రాజన్ త్రికూట ఇతి విశ్రుతః |
క్షీరోదేనావృతః శ్రీమాన్ యోజనాయుతముచ్ఛ్రితః || ౧ ||
తావతా విస్తృతః పర్యక్త్రిభిః శృంగైః పయోనిధిమ్ |
దిశశ్చ రోచయన్నాస్తే రౌప్యాయసహిరణ్మయైః || ౨ ||
అన్యైశ్చ కకుభః సర్వా రత్నధాతు విచిత్రితైః |
నానాద్రుమలతాగుల్మైః నిర్ఘోషైః నిర్ఝరాంభసామ్ || ౩ ||
సదానిమజ్యమానాంఘ్రిః సమంతాత్పయ ఊర్మిభిః |
కరోతి శ్యామలాం భూమిం హరిన్మరకతాశ్మభిః || ౪ ||
