Fundamental rights are a group of rights that have been recognized by a high degree of protection from encroachment. These rights are specifically identified in a Constitution, or have been found under Due Process of law.
The Fundamental Rights are defined as the basic human rights of all citizens. These rights, defined in Part III of the Constitution, applied irrespective of race, place of birth, religion, caste, creed, gender, and equality of opportunity in matters of employment. They are enforceable by the courts, subject to specific restrictions
The Fundamental Rights have been classified under the six categories-
- Right to Freedom,
- Right to Equality,
- Right against Exploitation,
- Right to Freedom of Religion,
- Cultural and Educational rights and
- Right to constitutional remedies.
