General Manoj Mukund Naravane (Retd.) proudly served as the 28th Chief of Staff of the Indian Army from December 31, 2019, to April 30, 2022. His journey began with initial training at the Air Force Central School in Delhi Cantt and Jnana Prabodhinee Prashala in Pune. A graduate of several prestigious institutions, including the National Defense Academy in Khadakwasla (Pune) and the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, he also completed specialized training at the Defense Staff College in Wellington and the Army War College in Mohau.
With a strong academic background, General Naravane holds a Master’s degree in Defense Studies, another Master’s degree in Defense and Management Studies, and a PhD derived from his experiences in Nagaland. Throughout a distinguished military career spanning more than four decades, he held key positions such as Army Vice Chief of Staff and Commander-in-Chief of Training and Eastern Command.
