CCL Form - Summary
CCL Form, also known as the Child Care Leave Form, is used by government employees to apply for leave to take care of their children. This leave helps parents, especially mothers, to manage their work and family responsibilities during important times like a child’s illness, exams, or any other personal need.
The purpose of the CCL Form is to officially request approval for this leave from the concerned department or office. By filling out the form correctly with all required details, employees can ensure their leave is properly recorded and granted without any issues.
Understanding Child Care Leave (CCL) Form
Child Care Leave (CCL) Form – Conditions
- A child’s health and education are the main reasons behind using CCL.
- This facility is available until the child turns 18 years of age. Hence, it should be availed thoughtfully, spread over many years, until both children reach adulthood, especially during times when the child’s mother needs to be present.
- Applications for CCL must be submitted at least 15 days before the desired leave start date.
- CCL is not a guaranteed right, and while it helps women employees care for their children during important times (like rearing, exams, or sickness), it shouldn’t disturb the smooth running of offices and institutions.
- Employees cannot take CCL without prior approval from the correct authority.
- CCL will not be granted in more than three spells in a calendar year.
- Ordinarily, CCL cannot be taken during the probation period, except in special situations where the leave sanctioning authority feels it’s truly necessary. In such cases, the leave granted should be minimal.
- Any other type of leave already taken or any unauthorized absence cannot be changed into CCL after the fact.

- According to the amendment of Rule 43-C concerning CCL, CCL may now be granted at 100% of the leave salary for the first 365 days and 80% of the leave salary for the following 365 days.
