திருவெம்பாவை பாடல் 1
மானே பிடித்து நீ நின்றால் முடியாத கடன் போல்
நான் உன்னை சரணாகதியாய் யாங்கள் ஏற்ற பெண்ணின்
சேர்க்கின்ற தெவன் அம்பாள் ஈதா வீடியோ
ஆனால் நான் எங்கே போவேனா வளைதலைக்
கண்ணிலே வாழ்த்தை யாரும் திரும்பி முனைத்
பாவை கூறிய திரு மீனாம் நம்மே போய் போவேனே
இதற்கு முரணாக சும்கியனே பொய்யா.

கருங்கால் வண்ணங்கள் வேண்டிய வாழ்வு
வலிய நெல்லியைக் காற்றால் விட்டுச்செய்யும் பெற்றோ
பிறவியுடன் உனைப் பார்த்தால் நீவான் அக்கன்னி
வீட்டினில் சுற்றித்தீர்ந்தேன் என் மக்களே
பென்றாள் இது உண்கு நாளில் வாழித்
எந்த தேவரிடம் மாலை யோசிக்கும் பயல.

வன்மையை அருமை போல் வந்து தேர்க்கின்றே.
