- Visit the official website at https://nsc.tnebltd.gov.in/nsconline/nametransfer.xhtml.
- You will need to enter your consumer number and the region code.
- Next, select the reason for the name transfer. Your options include:
- Due to death
- Due To Settlement/Partition/Sale/Gift without Consent Letter
- Due To Settlement/Partition/Sale/Gift with Consent Letter
- After selecting the reason, attach the required documents that are filled and signed.
- If you choose the owner type as Joint property, you will also need to attach the “Consent Letter from Co-owner in Form-5,” although this is not mandatory.

- Copy and original of the payment receipt of the last electricity bill
- Attested copy of the sale deed of the premises to prove ownership
- Copy of the last tax receipt for the premises
- Copy of the card issued by the electricity board (if applicable)
- An indemnity bond on stamp paper (the value is advised by authorities and can be obtained from any notary office)
- NOC from the individual in whose name the meter is currently registered
- Attested copies of address and ID proof
- Aadhaar card
