National Recruitment Agency (NRA) - Summary
What is the National Recruitment Agency (NRA)?
The National Recruitment Agency (NRA) is a multi-agency body that will conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) to screen and shortlist candidates for Group B and C (non-technical) positions. The NRA will include representatives from the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Finance/Department of Financial Services, the SSC, RRB, and IBPS. It is designed to be a specialized body that will introduce modern technology and best practices into the recruitment field of the Central Government.
Access to Examination Centres
With examination centres available in every district across India, access for candidates in remote areas will significantly improve. Special attention will be given to establishing examination infrastructure in the 117 Aspirational Districts, ensuring that candidates can take exams closer to their homes.
Major Relief to Poor Candidates
Currently, candidates face the challenge of appearing for multiple exams conducted by various agencies. This not only involves examination fees but also adds extra costs for travel, lodging, and other expenses. By implementing a single examination through the NRA, the financial burden on candidates will be greatly reduced.
