This list, made by Stanford University and Elsevier, shows the top 2% of scientists from all over the world. The database covers 20 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields and provides both career-long research impact and impact based on citations received in 2025.
The 2026 Version 9 is based on the Scopus data available on August 1, 2026, with career-long data updated through the end of 2025. Scientists are selected if they are among the top 100,000 by c-score or have a 2% or higher percentile rank in their sub-field.
