Train Services Guidelines from June 1 - Summary
Get ready for the updated train services guidelines starting on 1st June 2020. These new train services are designed to support migrants and everyone wishing to travel by trains apart from Shramik Trains, which will continue to operate in larger numbers with 100 pairs of trains available. This guide covers important details like ticket booking, health screenings, cancellations, refunds, catering, linen, and more.
Ticket Booking & Health Guidelines
Ticket booking for these trains will start from 10 am on 21st May 2020. Please note that regular passenger services, including mail, express, passenger, and suburban services, will remain canceled until further notice.
Booking of Tickets & Charting
- All tickets will only be available through online E-Ticketing on the IRCTC website or via the Mobile App. Please avoid buying tickets at railway station counters, and booking through agents (both IRCTC Agents and Railway Agents) is not allowed.
- The advance reservation period (ARP) will be a maximum of 30 days.
- RAC and Waitlist tickets will be generated according to current rules. However, those with waiting list tickets will not be allowed to board the train.
- No unreserved (UTS) tickets will be issued, and purchasing tickets onboard during the journey is not permitted.
- Tatkal and premium tatkal bookings are not available on these trains.
- The first chart must be prepared at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure, and the second chart at least 2 hours prior (instead of the usual 30-minute time). Only online current booking is allowed between the first and second chart preparation.
To ensure everyone’s safety, all passengers will undergo mandatory screening, and only asymptomatic individuals will be allowed to board the train.
Safety Precautions for Passengers
Travelers must follow these important safety precautions:
- Only passengers with confirmed tickets are permitted to enter the railway station.
- Everyone must wear face covers or masks at all times while entering and during the journey.
- Passengers should arrive at the station at least 90 minutes earlier for thermal screening. Asymptomatic passengers only will be allowed to travel.
- Social distancing is mandatory at both the station and on the trains.
- Upon arrival at their destination, travelers must adhere to any health protocols set by the destination state or union territory.
