This policy is available for all those in the age group of 18 to 65. It is an individual policy issued based on sum insured basis only. One person can take only one policy. Dependent children in the age group of 3 months to 25 years can be covered with one parent under this policy.

The Star Novel Coronavirus (nCOV) (COVID-19) insurance policy is one of its kind policy and is specially designed to offer coverage against the deadly viral infection. The plan has many unique features that include:
- The policy provides a lump sum payment as a benefit to the policyholder who has contracted Coronavirus COVID-19 and has had to undergo hospitalization.
- There is a waiting period for the policy, which is 16 days from the commencement date of the policy.
- There is no medical screening or testing requirement for applicants.
A free look period is available from the company, whereby people can take this product and have a free look for a period of 15 days. During this period, they can go through the policy terms and conditions. If for any reason, they are not satisfied, they can return the policy and get a refund. The refund is given subject to the insurer deducting any charges spent for medical examination of the insured person or stamp duty fee. If the risk has already commenced, then an amount proportionate to the number of days risk cover extended shall be deducted before refund. The refund is applicable only if no claim has been made. Refunds are applicable only for the purchase of the policy and not for renewal. - Tax benefit under Section 80 D of Income Tax Act is available for premium paid for obtaining this policy.
