Nyaya Vikas Yojana Guidelines - Summary
The Nyaya Vikas Yojana Guidelines are crucial for understanding the development of judicial infrastructure in our Districts and Subordinate Judiciary. Since the financial year 1993-94, the Department of Justice has diligently worked under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) to enhance our judicial system. The funds sharing pattern stands at 60:40 for most States, while it is 90:10 for North Eastern and Himalayan States, ensuring that Union Territories receive 100% funding. This approach guarantees that every region of our country gets the necessary support for judicial development.
What is the Nyaya Vikas Scheme?
Under the Nyaya Vikas Scheme, the central government provides valuable assistance to State Governments and Union Territory (UT) Administrations. This funding specifically aims to construct essential facilities, including court halls and residential units for Judicial Officers and Judges in District and Subordinate Courts. Recently, the scheme has been extended beyond 31.03.2021 and now features exciting enhancements such as Lawyers Halls, toilet complexes, and Digital Computer Rooms. These improvements are designed to enrich the experience for both lawyers and litigants, making the judicial process smoother and more efficient.
