Engineering Admission – Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for admissions into various engineering courses differ from college to college. There are around 4000 colleges total in India with more than 50 lakh candidates who apply for admission to these colleges across India every year. The eligibility criteria set up by the colleges and universities are given below in detail.
For Undergraduate Degree Students

• Candidates must score at least 55% marks in the last qualifying exam of 10+2.
• They should have cleared 10+2 with science as their stream and subjects like math, physics, and chemistry should be chosen from a recognized board.
• An entrance test is conducted by many universities to grant admissions to engineering courses, while some offer a merit base or cut-off to be eligible for the course study.

For Postgraduate Degree Students

• Candidates must score at least 55%-60% marks in the last qualifying exam of their bachelor’s degree to be eligible to apply for PG engineering courses.
• The last degree should be either a BE/B.Tech or a BSc. for some courses.
• Admissions will be granted based on either engineering entrance exams scores or based on merit as per the guidelines of the colleges.
