So, What is a computer ?

A computer is a electronic machine that can be instructed to carry out sequences of arithmetic or logical operations automatically via computer programming. Computer program is a set of instructions which help computer to perform some specific task. Today’s Modern computers have the ability to follow generalized sets of operations, called programs.

But the earlier generations didn’t have the ability to follow set of instructions in programming format to complete a task. Nowadays computer became so powerful and intelligent. They come with Artificial Intelligence abilities which makes it easier to complete given tasks.

Five Generations of Computers

• First Generation : Vacuum Tubes (1940-1956)
• Second Generation : Transistors (1956-1963)
• Third Generation : Integrated Circuits (1964-1971)
• Fourth Generation : Microprocessors (1971-Present)
• Fifth Generation : Artificial Intelligence (Present and Beyond)
