A certificate from the Head of the Institution is necessary to confirm that the child studied at the school for the academic year claimed. If this certificate cannot be provided, a self-attested copy of the report card or the fee receipt for the entire year can be submitted instead.
For the hostel subsidy, capped at Rs 6,750 per month, a similar certificate must be submitted along with proof of the amount paid for lodging and boarding. Again, if such a certificate cannot be obtained, a self-attested copy of the report card or the fee receipt for the whole year may suffice.
Children of central government employees who have passed away while in service can receive the Children Education Allowance until they complete 12th Std or until the period when the deceased employee would have retired, whichever comes first.
