By offering cashless treatment and ensuring coverage of vital healthcare services, this health assurance scheme strives to make essential medical care more affordable. It also seeks to lessen the financial pressure that families often experience when paying out of pocket for medical treatment.

Key Features of the Scheme

1) This scheme is run by the Implementation Support Agency (ISA) known as Medi Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd., which has been appointed for this task.

2) The scheme is open to all BPL and APL families in Assam with an annual family income of up to ₹5 lakh. It’s important to remember that government employees are not eligible for enrollment in this scheme.

3) Each adult member of eligible families will be registered by the ISA and will receive a laminated ID card with a unique identification number. This card enables access to cashless treatment at approved hospitals. For children under 18, they will be registered under the head of the family.

4) Enrolment for BPL families in the scheme is completely free. However, APL families must pay a small fee of ₹100 per year for each family member.

5) The scheme provides inpatient treatment at both private and public empanelled hospitals, with a maximum limit of ₹2.00 lakh per individual member each year. It covers 438 medical procedures for various diseases, including:

Cardiovascular diseases
Cancer
Renal (Kidney) diseases
Neonatal diseases
Neurological conditions
Burns
