Zerodha Account Closure Form

You can close your Zerodha account by submitting the account closure form. You need to download and print this form, select ‘Close account’, fill it out and send it to our head office
Alternatively, you can e-sign the filled account closure form and submit it by raising a ticket below. Click here for a walkthrough of the process to e-sign documents.
The account closure form will be processed within 5-7 working days.

Important Points:

  1. Your account can be closed only if you don’t have a negative account balance. Please submit your account closure form after clearing any pending dues.
  2. You need to ensure there are no securities in your demat account. You can either sell your holdings and withdraw your funds. You can also transfer your shares to another demat account by opting for ‘transferred to another account’. Locked-in shares, Government securities, and mutual funds can only be moved to a CDSL demat account that belongs to you.
  3. You can opt for the closure-cum-transfer only if you submit a signed hardcopy of the account closure form. You will have to send the CMR (Client Master Report) of the target demat account. The target account needs to be in the same order of name(s) as your Zerodha demat account. The CMR has to be in the form of a hardcopy with seal & signature for NSDL accounts. It can be digitally signed CMR by the DP for CDSL accounts.
