Sudoku for Kids
Sudoku games its simplest and most common configuration, sudoku consists of a 9 × 9 grid with numbers appearing in some of the squares. The object of the puzzle is to fill the remaining squares, using all the numbers 1–9 exactly once in each row, column, and the nine 3 × 3 subgrids.
The name “sudoku” is abbreviated from the Japanese suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru, which means “the numbers (or digits) must remain single.” Now there are sudoku competitions across the globe, and variations of the puzzle often appear side-by-side the crossword puzzle in newspapers and magazines.
Sudoku Games Rules
- Every square has to contain a single number
- Only the numbers from 1 through to 9 can be used
- Each 3×3 box can only contain each number from 1 to 9 once
- Each vertical column can only contain each number from 1 to 9 once
- Each horizontal row can only contain each number from 1 to 9 once
