The National Academy of Agricultural Sciences is a think tank that provides a forum to scientists to present their views on critical issues relating to agricultural research, education, and extension. The Academy encourages cutting-edge research in different fields of agriculture and accords recognition to scientists by electing them as Fellows, giving them Awards, and admitting young scientists to Associateship.
NAAS Rating 2022 Journal List
For determining the NAAS score of research journals, the Academy has classified them into the following two categories:-
Category I: In those journals where Thompson Reuters Impact Factor is available, the scores are assigned as 6.00 + Impact Factor with a capping of 20.00.
Category II: In those journals where Thompson Reuters Impact Factor is not available, the marks are assigned on the basis of information provided by the Publishers in a prescribed proforma and also an evaluation of the scientific contents of the journals.
CRITERIA ADOPTED FOR CALCULATION OF PUBLICATION MARKS OF NOMINEES FOR:
A. FELLOWSHIP OF THE ACADEMY
For the forty most important research publications (Maximum 50 marks)
- Forty most important publications will be considered. The Reviews and Review Articles will not be given any marks. For Thomson Reuters Impact Factor (IF) journals, NAAS Score = 6.0 + IF with capping on 20.00.
- Multiple authorship: First author and the corresponding author will get full marks in a publication and the rest of the authors 75% marks
- The total NAAS Score of all 40 publications will be obtained and multiplied by 0.125 with a cap of a maximum of 50 marks.
B. ASSOCIATESHIP OF THE ACADEMY
For the twenty most important research publications (Maximum 60 marks)
- Twenty most important publications will be considered. The Reviews and Review Articles will not be given any marks. For Thomson Reuters Impact Factor (IF) journals, NAAS Score = 6.0 + IF with capping on 20.00.
- Multiple authorship: The present criteria of full marks to the first and corresponding author and 75% to all the co-authors may continue.
- The total NAAS Score of all 20 publications will be obtained and multiplied by 0.3 with a cap of a maximum of 60 marks.
