Maharashtra Guidelines for Bakari Eid 2020 in Marathi

Maharashtra government would soon come up with guidelines on the sacrifice of cattle on the eve of Bakri Eid falling on August 1. The coming Eid ul Adha or Bakri Eid should be celebrated in a simple and if possible “symbolic” manner in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

Shaikh clarified that in the wake of Covid-19 no mosque will be open and no namaz would be held anywhere in the state. “Like how people offered namaz at home on Ramzan Eid, this time to they will have to offer prayers at home(Eid-Ul Ada).

The only sacrifice of animals will be allowed that too on certain conditions like red zones or containment zones will not be permitted to perform the sacrifice’’ said Shaikh. Most importantly he said that there won’t be any mandi (cattle market) in Deonar and the people will have to buy the goats online. “There are several farmhouses who are ready and willing to sell animals online. The seller will deliver the goats.

Director general of police Subodh Jaiswal, Mumbai Police commissioner Parambir Singh, and BMC commissioner Iqbal Chahal were of opinion that the festival should be avoided in the wake of Covid-19. Muslim leaders had been insisting Chief Minister that he should allow the Bakri Eid festival as he has allowed Ganesh Utsav with restrictions.
