দীপক কুমার ঘোষ লেখক নন। তবু এই ৭৫ বছর বয়সে তিনি অনেক পরিশ্রম করে বহু তথ্য, মূলতঃ সরকারী দলিলপত্র চিঠি ইত্যাদি সংগ্রহ করে এই বইটি লিখেছেন। প্রেসিডেন্সি কলেজ থেকে পদার্থ বিদ্যায়, মহারাজা মণীন্দ্র চন্দ্র কলেজ থেকে বাণিজ্যবিদ্যায় ও কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের হাজরা ‘ল কলেজ থেকে আইনে স্নাতক, স্কুল শিক্ষক, মহাকরণে নিম্নবর্গের কেরানী, ডেপুটি ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট এবং অবশেষে আই. এ . এস পরীক্ষায় পশ্চিমবঙ্গের পরীক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে প্রথম স্থান অধিকার করে মোট ৩৭ বছর আমলার কাজ করেন, তারপর ২ বছর জাতীয় কংগ্রেসে ও ১৩ বছর তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসে থেকে দু’বার বিধায়ক হয়ে বর্তমানে তথাকথিত মূল্যবোধের রাজনীতি করা রাজনৈতিক নেতাদের মুখোশ খুলে দিতেই এই বইটি লিখেছেন।
