International Arrivals Revised Guidelines - Summary
The International Arrivals Revised Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare focus on protocols for international travellers, particularly in the context of the ongoing adjustments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These guidelines have been updated regularly in response to the declining number of COVID-19 cases worldwide.
Compliance for International Travellers
Effective from 13th February 2023 at 11:00 Hrs IST, these revised guidelines outline the protocols that every international traveller must follow. All travelers are required to submit a self-declaration form on the online portal (www.newdelhiairport.in) at least 72 hours prior to their scheduled travel. They must also provide an undertaking on this portal stating that they will undergo mandatory quarantine.
Quarantine Procedure
According to the guidelines, the quarantine period lasts for 14 days. This includes 7 days in paid institutional quarantine at the traveller’s own expense, followed by another 7 days of home isolation with self-monitoring of health.
In exceptional cases, such as pregnancy, death in the family, serious illness, or for parent(s) travelling with children aged 10 years or younger, home quarantine may be allowed for 14 days.
